Obama 2012 meeting
Join neighbors and fellow supporters on Thursday, December 15th at Carvers, 1022 Main Ave, as we gather to review our accomplishments since the campaign kicked off in April. Everyone's invited to share their thoughts on how we can build the President's campaign in 2012. Let's start 2012 prepared to re-elect President Obama and Democrats up and down the ticket. Sal Pace in Durango
A reception in support of Sal Pace, Democratic Candidate for Colorado's 3rd Congressional District will be held on Thursday, December 15, 2011 from 5:00pm-6:30pm at the home of Brian O’Donnell and Melyssa Watson, 931 E 5th Ave, Durango, CO 81301. Update on Jim Isgar
As some of you know, Jim Isgar is being treated for myelodysplastic syndrome (MDS) and lukemia. He is currently receiving chemotherapy, but will soon need a bone marrow transplant. If you would like to help Jim, or just do a good deed, please go to bethematch.org and join the bone marrow registry. They will send you a mouth swab test kit in the mail and add your name to the national registry to help him or someone like him. Bethematch.org has a wealth of information about the donation process and what it means to be a donor. Donation isn't always a painful process and doesn't necessarily require surgery.

Help needed
The Friends of the Library holds five book sales a year, and needs help with transporting books for these sales. They are looking for someone to drive a truck (provided) to their storage unit at Armadillo, and help other FOL volunteers load it with boxes of books, then drive to the library and unload the boxes with the assistance of other FOL volunteers. At the conclusion of the sale (usually a day or two later), the process is reversed. The next sale is February 17th and 18th, and the FOL would like to have a someone new by then.
