The La Plata County Commissioners are looking out for the future of the County by addressing a long-standing budget challenge. Please join Marsha Porter-Norton, the Chairwoman of the Commission, for a deep-dive presentation on the County's revenue situation, challenges and proposed solution.  You will learn what factors have led to the pressing need for a 1 cent sales tax increase which is currently contemplated for a vote on the November ballot.  You'll also learn about the long list of things the County is required to do by State Law, and then see the discretionary services offered such as wildfire mitigation, Sheriff patrols, broadband expansion and housing investments.
