The Club - Locals Making a Difference
Meet two amazing local business owners working to make our world better.
Time & Location
Sep 05, 12:00 PM – 1:30 PM
About the Event
We'll start with Cristen Salaz, the owner of WeFill (3465 Main Ave Durango 970-764-4015). From their website https://wefillcolorado.com: "WeFill is Durango's original refilling station and zero-waste shop stocked with healthy swaps for your body, face, kitchen, and bathroom. Our name, WeFill, is an invitation to be part of something greater than ourselves. Our hourglass logo reminds us that time is ticking, and we must remain in balance with our resilient earth for a sustainable future." There'll be a short Q&A afterwards.
Then we'll hear from local attorney David Albrechta, who has been a sponsor of The Club lunch since its inception. David will talk about his partnership with Towards Justice, a nonprofit law firm representing workers in litigation and other advocacy in efforts to build worker power and advance economic justice in Colorado and across the country. https://towardsjustice.org/ One of their projects involving Durango is to ask the city for legislation on raising the minumum wage to something livable. This benefits both worker and employer. Q&A to follow as well."
