Three well-informed locals offer perspectives on the war in Ukraine:

• Herb Bowman spent much of the last 20 years directing legal development and human rights programs in former communist, and some still communist, countries.  From 2010 to 2015, he lived in Tbilisi, Georgia, serving as the Chief of Party (Director) for two successive U.S. government legal reform and human rights projects.  He was back in Tbilisi doing similar work as recently as December 2021.  Herb has also lived and worked in Poland, Mongolia, and Albania - all former Soviet satellite states.
• Guinn Unger spent 28 years with the US Army Reserves, retiring with rank of Lt. Colonel.
• Terry Swan was a Brigidier General with the US Air Force, and was intimately involved with NATO for years.
